The English defender Danny Batth has been given contract extension at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 23 years old centre back has been at the Wolverhampton ground since his childhood days. He had joined the club academy way back in 2000 and played for the youth team for some years before making his first team debut in 2009. It took him a few years to cement his place in the first team, but, in the last couple of seasons, he has been a regular member of the Wolverhampton squad.

Batth has so far made 38 league appearances for the Wolves and has found the back of the net on a couple of occasions.

The Wolverhampton CEO Mr. Jez Moxey told the reporters yesterday about Batth’s contract being extended.
Moxey said, “I am glad to announce that Danny is going to stay at Wolverhampton for another 3 seasons. He is a product of our academy and has been an amazing performer for us in the last couple of years. He has shown great professionalism not only on the pitch, but, off it as well.”

“Now that he has no worries about his future, I expect him to make further improvements in his game and continue to be a vital part of our squad.”

The reason Batth has played so less for the Wolves in the last 4 years is that he had been getting placed on loan quite frequently before the 2012-2013 Season. The previous season was the first one that he spent entirely at the Wolverhampton ground.

The three clubs that Batth has played for on loan so far are Colchester United, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday. But, it doesn’t seem that the Wolves management would place him on loan again in near future.
