Lambert targeting promotion

Paul Lambert said that Wolves will be pushing for promotion next season and that he is already working on signing new players.

He said that the objective this season has been to avoid relegation and with that nearly achieved it is important for the team that they start thinking ahead.

He said that he would need at least three new players to bolster the team in order to mount a serious challenge for promotion. The Wolves board has already said that they will give the manager the necessary fund so as to build a team that will allow them to win promotion to the Premier League.

Paul Lambert said that he is already working with the sporting director and managing director to identify the best players that can help bring the club forward and that they will be starting negotiation as soon as the transfer window open.

Lambert said that it is not good for a club of Wolves stature to only be thinking about Championship. It is important that they aim for higher and ensure that they win promotion to the Premier League. He believes that the new owners are ambitious and that they want to turn Wolves in one of the best teams in England.

For that, they will first need to win promotion to the Premier League, and he feels that the team has the potential to achieve that next season. Obviously, he will need some additional players to strengthen the squad, but he feels that there is already a good foundation on which to build on.

Paul Lambert said that the fans have been magnificent all season and that it is important as a club you give the fans something to cheer about. He stated that he has already started planning for the new season and he believes that they can make it next season.
