Who We Are

The Humane Outreach for Wolves League (HOWL) seeks to protect the wolf species by promoting education and awareness and dispelling popular myths that portray the wolf as an aggressive brute. We also focus on eliminating cruel and unnecessary "population control" methods, and instead look to safe repopulation and redistribution options that allow us to coexist. In doing this, we can rely on the positive effects these creatures have on the environment and economy, thus ensuring a safe ecosystem for our generations to come.

We like to collaborate with wolf and wolf dog sanctuaries to help them get the supplies that they need to continue the great work they do for and with our wolves.

Since much of the government seems to have little compassion toward the species or the placement of our tax dollars, we are here to speak for the wolves who cannot speak for themselves, and the humans who have no idea that this has been going on. Our unique campaigns are reaching out to a wider spectrum of people than many other similar organizations. We feel it necessary to inform the public that 27 MILLION dollars of our tax money was spent over the past few years to raise the wolf numbers, and now millions more is being spent to exterminate them with cruel campaigns. Not a very productive way to distribute our precious tax money.

We do not have a vendetta against ranchers and farmers, and in fact are here to help them. We research and offer alternatives to keep problem wolves away from livestock so poisoning, shooting, and aerial gunning are less necessary.
