WOLVES BEAT REDS TO BRAZILIAN FORWARD

Midlands have a lot more money to spend on transfer after their purchase by Chinese consortium and with the help of Jorge Mendes helping them in hunt for talented players around the globe.

Wolves are set to defeat Liverpool in the battle for Benfica star Anderson Talisca. Getting the Brazilian would mean the club would have to smash their transfer record to land the player.

Talisca displayed brilliance in the last campaign, prompting Mendes, who has been in the heart of a lot of deals for Chinese owners Fosun International, to lure him to the club. The player is set to take a flight to the UK to seal the deal.

Mendes is close to the new manager Walter Zenga – who has been handed a tough target of securing promotion this season. Zenga accepted the challenge of fighting with the deal for a promotion at season end. He claims the victory of Leicester City was a huge dream he has been inspired by. He says he is aware of the huge task but would do his best with the team. Benfica president Luis Felipe Viera was pictured with Mendes at the Wolves opening championship game at Rotherham last Saturday. There are reports that the president was in town to finalise the deal.

On the other hand, Wolves defeated their rival Crawley in the first round of the English Football League Cup with a 2-1 win. Wolves defeated the 10-man team after Mark Connolly received two yellow cards and was sent off. Joe Mason started the goal scoring with his goal in the 7th minute. Jed Wallace hit the goal post and he sent the ball to the back of the net. Six minutes later Enzio Boldewijn got an equalizer by heading home the ball from a corner. Conor Coady scored the winner in the 76th minute.
