WOLVES BOSS NUNO ESPIRITO DEMANDS MORE ACCURACY FROM HIS FORWARDS

Following their slender 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Friday night, Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito has issued a rallying cry to his forwards and called on them to be more lethal and ruthless in front of goal. He particularly singled out Fabio Silva and asked the forward to work on his finishing ability after they struggled to secure a win over their rivals.

The Wolves team ran out victors at the Molineux Stadium after an impressive solo goal from star forward Adama Traore was enough to send them through to the next round of the competition. However, Nuno believes Silva, who missed two golden opportunities to lay the game to bed, should be more clinical in front of goal to cement himself as a good striker.

Silva's first opportunity to open the scoring came right in the 12th minute but could only fire the ball above the crossbar from just eight yards out. The teenager so missed another great opportunity after the restart with a free header which he should have buried into the net. Leander Dendoncker also had his fair share of the goal-scoring chances but also failed to hit the target as he was denied by opposition goalkeeper Jack Butland.
After the game, a frustrated Nuno said Fabio had a good game but should learn to take his chances and do better for the team so that they can score more goals and be at more advantage in their quest to win matches.
Nino also added that the 18-year-old needs to learn to have a better approach to games even before kick-off and improve on his decision-making when he is in the six-yard box. He concluded by saying that Silva has the talent to be a big hit but needs to harness and hone the talent and put it to good use.
